Via dell’Erta Canina is one of the most picturesque areas of Florence, characterized by an ancient walk path that was already mentioned in Dante’s Divine Comedy and that takes you to the historical center and all sites in no time. Welcome to Florence of another time: a truism if you consider that Erta Canina was one of the few ways of reaching the city centre from the countryside.
The three bedroom villa has been lovingly restored with the help of a renown Roman Interior Designer and a Florentine Architect to live up to the highest standards of the discerning traveler.
This energy efficient four story villa comfortably sleeps 6 guests, featuring one master king bedroom, one queen sized bedroom and one double bedroom, all with en-suite full marble bathrooms that include Salvatore Ferragamo beauty amenities, hair dryers and a flat iron. Thanks to a comfortable single bed pull out couch in the basement we may host one more guest in our nanny room, making it a total of 7 guests that can comfortably stay at our villa. The nanny room is conviniently located next to the guest bathroom and reachable via elevator or outside stairs.
The house includes an elevator, an open full kitchen and dining-living room area, state of the art temperature control, including air conditioning and floor heating, laundry room with washing machine and dryer, a small wine cellar with a selection of wines, water softener, fibre internet, a safe in every bed room, state of the art Bose music system in each room and outdoors, guest bathroom, fully automated black out blinds, security entry door, terraces on each floor, and a veranda for outdoor seating and dining.
All windows and balconies offer breathtaking views of the lush Tuscan countryside and the panoramic upper level of the master bedroom offers a glimpse of Florence’s masterpieces.

The Neighborhood – History
Villa Ventura is located in Via dell’Erta Canina, one of the most picturesque areas of Florence, characterized by an ancient walk path that leads from the banks of the Arno River in the historical center to the basilica of San Miniato al Monte.
This route is part of the winding and narrow hilly roads that surround Florence, all of them offering a magnificent view over the Tuscan countryside.
Bordered by walls, via dell’Erta Canina is a very old road and until the nineteenth century, it was one of the few paths used to reach the city. It was also one of the shortcuts used to reach Siena and Rome and for this reason, it was a very busy route. As a visible proof of its ancient origin, you can still find old tabernacle gravestones along the way, the ones that accompanied the travelers with blessings and distance information.
Squeezed between houses and fields, its upper part is now paved and accessible to vehicles, but the route becomes pedestrian only once you get past the Colle Ginevra. This lower part of the road is covered with grass just as it once was and it is the one offering the most spectacular view over the surrounding hills and the Tuscan capital.
The villas in here have been built during different centuries, but they all are majestic buildings with large gardens surrounding them.
The lower part of the street becomes part of the residential San Niccolò neighbourhood and reminds of St.Germain in Paris, filled with artists, typical trattorias, excellent restaurants, ice cream stores and cute cafes. The San Niccolò neighbourhood is one of the oldest districts of Florence and most beloved by the Florentines. It is also less overrun by tourists and therefore more local and real.
